Restaurant Am Platzl in Rothenburg

It is a family business all very friendly. The food is freshly prepared, something for all food preferences. There is always a greeting from the kitchen.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We were served very warmly, the food was excellent again on our second visit and is absolutely worth the price.

Just a great restaurant with a great host. Abundant portions including various greetings from the kitchen, so that nobody goes home hungry (which would also be uncomfortable for the head chef aka head waiter or restaurant manager). A must for everyone who is in or near Rothenburg, especially in this somewhat difficult time. Always my pleasure!

As always, a delight: from the greetings from the kitchen to the main courses. The delicious food, the ambience and the warmth of the hosts make every visit a wonderful experience. Tip: reserve in advance. Dear tourists: Due to the corona, a mask is also required here (up to the table and when using the toilet) ... the nice host cannot help it. Please be considerate of each other and enjoy the nice atmosphere

We went 2 hours ago to this restaurant without a reservation. The waiter was totally not friendly against us. Probably this is a good restaurant, but mister the waiter: customer service is also very important! Don’t worry luckily we went to restaurant Zur silbernen Kanne. The staff was very friendly and the food was also very good. Auf Wiedersehen

On arrival the waiter was not worth a look and shouted "nein" from the other side of the terrace. Without us asking a question ... Maybe we would have wanted to make a reservation for later this day, tomorrow or would we like to sit inside ?? Then not. For you 10 others who want to make money in corona time ...

Rude staff. Could not even get a take away coffee due to their arrogant attitude after waiting quite a while to be seated. Not recommended.

Really enjoyed food here, taste and presentation were great. The young man who served us was nice and joked a bit. They offer local wine, which was also tasty.

Romantic restaurant located in the historic center. Cozy place with a romantic air conditioning and clean. Simple menu with dishes without mystery but rich. The service very attentive and friendly. Caring for the client with professionalism. High ticket price, but the value for money and considering the location, the price is fair. Recommendable.

Good food, even though there was only one waitress who was very bussy, she did everything with a smile. We even got an umbrella to walk home (it was raining).

Really rude female staff serving tonight. Too "busy" to bring over the menu or to serve us. Not welcoming to guests with babies/children. The manager apologised on her behalf and offered us free drinks but we didn't want to stay after such incompetent and shameful behaviour of the female staff concerned. Schade!!

Great host! Very funny and accommodating with our family. It’s German food but with a more modern take (i.e. not as heavy as usual). We had sausages with the best sauerkraut of our trip thus far. The perfect leafy green salad, tomato soup, and penne with salmon rounded out our dinner. A little outside the tourist area and close to the outer wall makes this a hidden gem. Nice walk along the wall back to our hotel capped off a fine night.

It was really good. You can change the menu once a week so you do not have to decide on a review picture. But the food we ordered is delicious. The staff is very kind and I have a sense. I was sitting indoors because the outdoor tables were full, but when I got out there, I moved them. The local beer is light, but the flavor is good. I ate a steak and a German traditional pen and it was good without squeezing it. It was here that we did not come to Europe. It was wonderful food and place. The food was good for all. The local beer has good taste. We ate the steak and penne was good. And employee was really kind and has beautiful mind. There were no racialism.

The place is rather small and old fashioned. But don't let that fool you. The food was delicious, the beer was good, the staff was friendly and spoke English without a problem. Price to quality ratio was excellent and well worth a return.

Stopped in on our way out of Rothenberg because they allowed our dog in. Amazing food and the waitress was super friendly. We asked for some changes to our dinners like potatoes instead of sauerkraut and they were very accomodating. Excellent

Very good place!! We recomended the hamburger but the cordon bleu it's good too.

Potato salad is amazing. Also loves the pork knuckle. Nice little patio in front of restaurant.
